We deliver the medical aspects of the Critical Care service at Spire Manchester — rated Outstanding by the CQC. A team of cardiothoracic critical care doctors with NHS heritage, providing 24/7 cover, since 2017.
We have been working in partnership with Spire Manchester Hospital since 2017. The medical aspects of the Critical Care service have been delivered by RiSE throughout — and the unit was rated Outstanding by the CQC in 2019, one of the very few private critical care units in the UK to receive such an accolade.
Our Directors and many of our Consultants have their background in cutting-edge cardiothoracic critical care and anaesthesia — delivering ECMO, cardiothoracic transplantation, and heart surgery in the NHS.
Many of the team have worked as part of Wythenshawe's ECMO service. The service we run at Spire Manchester operates to GPICS II standards.
Over sixty doctors have now worked for RiSE in recent years. Many have gone on to high-flying consultant jobs around the country. We're very proud of them.
We aspire to improve the lives of the doctors working in the independent sector. Teaching, mentorship, opportunity, pastoral care, job satisfaction and overall well-being. Because happy doctors equals happy patients — and a higher quality healthcare service.
RiSE Consultants provide 24/7 cover, with senior support always available. Our junior doctors are not on their own.
Regular teaching opportunities, structured appraisal, and the chance to develop alongside experienced clinicians who care.
An entrepreneurial mindset, work-life balance, and a culture that values experience, attitude, and ideas — not just hours on the rota.
If you're an NHS or independent-sector organisation interested in working with RiSE Critical Care — or you're a clinician interested in joining the team — we'd welcome a conversation.
We're always interested in hearing from experienced critical care doctors (ST3 and above) and cardiac critical care nurses with an entrepreneurial mindset.
