RiSE is a clinician-led company. We are a force for optimism — we believe the future can be better than where we are today, and that healthcare gets better when the people delivering it are properly supported.
RiSE was founded by clinicians who had spent their careers in cardiothoracic critical care and anaesthesia — delivering ECMO, cardiothoracic transplantation, and heart surgery in the NHS.
Many of our team have worked as part of Wythenshawe's ECMO service. That heritage is why RiSE understands what clinical teams need from the inside, not the outside.
Today, RiSE operates across two arms — clinical delivery (RiSE Critical Care, at Spire Manchester) and clinical technology (Meridian, our workforce intelligence platform). Both run by the same team, with the same conviction.
Happy doctors equals happy patients. Whether that's our clinical team at Spire or the NHS teams Meridian supports, we believe the people doing the work are the work — and that valuing them properly is the whole game.
RiSE has an entrepreneurial mindset. We're willing to challenge how things are done, build the tools that don't exist yet, and back people who want to take a different approach. The very essence of RiSE is in the name — we believe the future can be better than where we are today.
Everything RiSE does is grounded in real clinical experience. Our Critical Care service is run by consultants. Meridian is built by an NHS consultant clinician on a methodology developed in real NHS workforce settings. We don't theorise — we deliver, and we build from what we've learned doing it.
Humans are social animals. We are better together — happier, more successful, and we achieve more. RiSE is a company that supports our staff, provides opportunity and guidance — within clinical roles, but importantly outside of them too.
RiSE delivers a CQC Outstanding-rated Critical Care service at Spire Manchester, and builds Meridian — the workforce intelligence platform helping NHS Trusts coordinate their medical workforce. Both arms are run by the same clinical leadership.
